Fit India Yoga Session and Awareness Programme Organized by NSS Office

Aligarh, March 18, 2025: The National Service Scheme (NSS) Office successfully conducted a Fit India Yoga Session and Awareness Programme on March 10, 2025, to promote health and fitness among individuals. Dr. Mehraj Faridi, a well-known health and fitness expert, graced the event as the keynote speaker, emphasizing the importance of regular exercise and yoga for overall well-being.

The session aimed to spread awareness about the necessity of physical fitness and encourage people to adopt a healthy lifestyle. The event was held in the presence of Dr. Mohammad Mohsin Khan, who supported the initiative. Dr. Faridi stressed the significance of the Fit India Movement slogan, “Fitness ka Dose, Aadha Ghanta Roz”, urging participants to engage in at least 30 minutes of physical activity daily.

During the session, Dr. Faridi elaborated on the numerous benefits of yoga, explaining that it not only enhances flexibility and strength but also aids in reducing stress and promoting mental peace. He emphasized that many lifestyle-related diseases can be prevented through regular physical activity and a disciplined routine.

Participants were inspired to incorporate yoga and fitness practices into their daily lives. Dr. Faridi assured that dedicating just half an hour every day to physical well-being can bring about a significant improvement in overall health.

The session concluded with an engaging Q&A segment, where attendees posed their queries to Dr. Faridi. He provided insightful responses and personalized recommendations, encouraging individuals to prioritize their health.

The event was organized as part of the Fit India Campaign, a nationwide initiative aimed at increasing awareness about health and fitness. Saddam Hussain and Adnan Khan (Research Scholars in Physical Education) led a yoga demonstration, reinforcing the importance of disciplined practice.

The successful execution of the programme was credited to the dedicated efforts of Program Officer Mr. Md. Imran Khan, Dr. Asif, and Dr. Furqan Sahab, who ensured smooth coordination and participation.
