Aligarh, 20 May 2025 — In a proud moment for Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and the state of Uttar Pradesh, Amanullah Farooqi, a promising roller skater and Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) student at AMU, has been selected to represent India at the prestigious 20th Asian Roller Skating Championship scheduled to be held later this year in South Korea.

Amanullah’s journey is one of consistent excellence and steadfast dedication. A distinguished athlete, he has already made his mark on the international stage by securing a silver medal at the 2023 International Roller Skating Championship held in Macau. His performance there brought him national recognition and further fueled his passion for the sport.
Over the years, Amanullah has built an impressive record at the national level. He has participated in 14 national championships, amassing a total of 4 gold, 3 silver, and 5 bronze medals. His performance has not only been commendable but also inspirational for budding athletes across the country. His dedication to maintaining high standards was also evident in his remarkable feat of winning two consecutive gold medals at the All India Inter-University Championships, a rare accomplishment that highlights his dominance in the sport at the university level.
A dedicated member of both the AMU and Uttar Pradesh roller skating teams, Amanullah has represented his university and state at numerous national-level events, earning accolades and admiration from coaches, peers, and sports enthusiasts alike.
