AMU ABK High School (Girls) Hosts Cycling Event to Celebrate International Women’s Day

Event organized under the aegis of the National Service Scheme (NSS), AMU

Aligarh, March 12: In a remarkable display of resilience, fitness, and gender equality, students of AMU ABK High School (Girls), Aligarh Muslim University, participated in a special cycling event to celebrate International Women’s Day.

This event is organized under the aegis of the National Service Scheme (NSS), AMU. The event aimed to promote health awareness, physical fitness, and women’s empowerment. Enthusiastic and determined, the young cyclists rode from Faiz Gate to the AMU Proctor’s Office and back while yelling passionate slogans supporting gender equality and the value of an active lifestyle.

Dr. Saba Hasan, the vice principal of AMU ABK High School (Girls), stressed the importance of such initiatives in promoting a culture of well-being among women during her remarks at the flag-off ceremony.

The Fit India Movement is encouraged by the fact that women of all ages are now actively pursuing their fitness and health. Dr. Mohammad Mohsin Khan, NSS Program Coordinator, emphasized the significance of the initiative by saying, “This cycling event was not just a celebration of International Women’s Day but also a call to action for more women to prioritize their physical and mental well-being.”

He expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports’ Directorate of NSS for selecting AMU ABK High School (Girls) as the host institution. He commended the dedication of the student volunteers and program officers, whose efforts were instrumental in making the event a success.

The cycling event not only underscored the importance of fitness but also reaffirmed the belief that empowering women through fitness is a crucial step toward a healthier and more equitable future.
