Mission Shakti: A Step Towards Women Empowerment

NSS AMU Hosts Seminar on Safety, Dignity & Mission Shakti”

Aligarh, March 27, 2025: The NSS Unit of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) organized a significant seminar on the topic of “Women’s Safety, Dignity, and Mission Shakti.” The event was graced by Chief Guest Ms. Seema Singh, Regional Manager of UPSICDA, Aligarh, a prominent social worker and advocate for women’s rights.

The program commenced with an address by Dr. Mohsin Khan, NSS Coordinator, AMU Unit, who highlighted society’s perspective towards women and the importance of their rights. Following this, Seema Singh expressed deep concern over women’s safety issues and elaborated on the importance of the Mission Shakti initiative. She emphasized that this initiative is a strong step towards empowering women and raising voices against violence.

During her address, Seema Singh shared her experiences and valuable insights on the status of women in society. She stated, “Ensuring the dignity and safety of women and girls is not just the responsibility of the government but requires collective efforts from all sections of society.” She urged the youth to bring about a positive change in their mindset and foster a culture of respect and safety for women.

The seminar saw active participation from students, faculty members, and university staff. In her concluding remarks, Seema Singh motivated everyone to work together for women’s security and rights.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Program Officer Nazia Begum, who expressed gratitude to Seema Singh and encouraged all attendees to remain aware and committed to the safety, dignity, and empowerment of women.

A key contribution to organizing the event was made by Abdul Jabbar, program officer. The seminar was also attended by Mu. Imran Khan, Nahid Akbari, Jeba, and other dignitaries.
