
NSS Unit of AMU Organizes National Workshop on Data Analysis Using SPSS, R, and AI Techniques
Aligarh, April 9, 2025: The NSS Unit of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), in collaboration with Bharat Digital Academy and AICPERT (All India Council for Productive Education, Research & Training)—an affiliated body of Vigyan Prasar, DST, Government of India—organized a one-day national workshop on “Data Analysis Using SPSS, R, and AI Techniques” at the NSS Unit Conference Hall. The workshop aimed to enhance the research and analytical capabilities of scholars, academicians, and professionals through the use of modern data tools and AI-powered platforms. Held from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from across the country.

The workshop commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Mohsin Khan, convenor of the event and coordinator of the NSS unit, who emphasized the growing significance of data analysis in academic and industrial research. He highlighted the need for blending traditional statistical tools with emerging AI techniques to bridge the gap between data and decision-making. The technical sessions featured eminent speakers from academia and industry. Dr. M. Wasi Baig, Director of ACN College of Engineering & Management, spoke on the industrial applications of AI in data analysis. Dr. Ahmadur Rahman, Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistics & Operations Research at AMU, provided a detailed introduction to the R programming environment and its applications in statistical modeling.
Mohammad Rafiq, AI Tools Expert and Director of Bharat Digital Academy, introduced participants to advanced AI platforms like ChatGPT, Orange, and other tools that simplify data interpretation and visualization. He emphasized that data visualization is one of the most crucial aspects of modern research. Dr. Mohammad Azam Khan, also from the Department of Statistics & Operations Research, conducted hands-on training in SPSS, focusing on techniques for effective data handling and interpretation. Participants gained practical experience in working with real datasets, explored live demonstrations of AI-driven tools, and engaged in interactive discussions with the experts.

The workshop’s key highlights included comprehensive training on SPSS, R, and AI-based tools, real-time demonstrations, Q&A sessions, and networking opportunities for collaborative research. All attendees received certificates of participation. The event concluded with a vote of thanks to the organizing team, guest speakers, and participants for their active engagement. The NSS Unit reaffirmed its dedication to promoting digital literacy and empowering the research community through skill-based training programs aligned with national educational goals.
