NSS Organizes Walkathon for Women’s Rights Awareness at Women’s College

NSS Celebrate International Women’s Day at Women’s College

Aligarh, March 11, 2025 – In a vibrant celebration of International Women’s Day, the National Service Scheme (NSS) at Women’s College organized a Walkathon to promote awareness of women’s rights and gender equality. The event, held on March 8, 2025, saw enthusiastic participation from women of all ages and backgrounds.

The Walkathon commenced from the Abdullah Hall Provost Office and concluded at the Women’s College gate. Participants marched in solidarity, emphasizing the significance of women’s empowerment, equality, and collective progress.

Dignitaries including the Principal of Women’s College, the Provost of Abdullah Hall, and Hostel Wardens actively participated and extended their support. The event was coordinated under the guidance of NSS Programme Officer Dr. Mohsin Khan, who was lauded for his efforts in organizing this impactful initiative.

“We are proud to host such an inspiring event on International Women’s Day. This Walkathon symbolizes our ongoing efforts towards equality, and it is essential for the community to unite in support of women’s rights,” remarked Dr. Mansoor Alam. Assistant Programme Officers Md Imran Khan, Suhaib Raza, and Naushad Najeeb were also present on the occasion.

The event underscored the importance of raising awareness and fostering a society where women enjoy equal opportunities in every field.

At the conclusion of the program, Dr. Mohd Mohsin Khan, NSS Programme Coordinator, extended his heartfelt gratitude to all participants for their enthusiastic involvement and contribution to the event’s success. He acknowledged the efforts of the organizing team, guest speakers, and attendees who played a crucial role in making the program meaningful and impactful. Dr. Khan emphasized the importance of collective participation in such initiatives and encouraged everyone to continue their dedication to community service and learning. He expressed hope that the insights gained would be beneficial for future endeavors and wished all participants success in their respective fields.
